Lansdowne Hot Tub Patio

One of the challenges of having a box unit hot tub is integrating it into the landscape.  In general, you want to put a hot tub in a place that is private and accessible.  In order to keep the box unit from dominating the limited yardspace of this project, we needed to create an elevation change.

When you step out of the sliding glass doors from the kitchen, you walk down two steps to the upper patio.  Straight ahead you see the top of the hot tub, a quick flip of the cover and you’re ready to step in.  A custom built pergola sits overhead for privacy.  Ceramic pots with annual displays gives the spaces a real garden patio feel.

Three steps down take you to a lower patio and outdoor dining area.  A brick feature in the random rectangle and square flagstone patio centers this room with architectural elements of the house.  Two pergolas sit symmetrically off of this space; one over the hot tub and one over the walkout basement.  A built in grill completes this garden patio package.
